Like many others, I'm travel mad. I love nothing more than being inspired by stories, pictures and films of adventure.

I spent my twenties chasing one hundred countries and with thanks to my lucky stars I ran past the travellers' century finish line about a week before my thirtieth birthday. I've slowed down quite a bit since then preferring more meaningful immersion resulting in some spectacular encounters.

Over the years, I've jotted down a handful of exciting, dramatic and occasionally alarming memories of curious cultural rhythms, rude awakenings and treasured adventures in the wild. I started Final Boarding Call as a way to share some of these stories and maybe even inspire a few readers to explore themselves.

From the seemingly impenetrable rainforests of Sierra Leone to the whisker-freezing depths of the Swedish Arctic Circle, there might just be a story here for you.
